Friday 3rd, Saturday 4th, Sunday 5th August
2007.
A fun- filled family show packed with attractions for all ages first
created for Hampton Court Palace is coming to Bournemouth this summer.
A Country Affair will be set in the idyllic and tranquil setting
of the Stour Valley Local Nature Reserve in North Bournemouth on
Friday 3rd, Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th August 2007.
Following a hugely successful debut close to Henry VIII's majestic
Royal Palace when 38,000 visitors flocked to Hampton Court Green,
A Country Affair has thrilled crowds at other premier London locations
including Clapham Common and the National Trust at Morden Hall near
Wimbledon.
Now, for the first time, the show is to be held outside the capital,
with the organisers, Stage It Events stating the Stour Valley location
as being perfect for this exciting blend of attractions and activities
for every member of the family.
A Country Affair recreates the essence and the atmosphere of traditional
rural shows with a modern twist. Highlights of previous events have
included entertaining animal shows including sheep shearing and
highly amusing ferret racing. Ever popular Morris dancing, delightful
Maypole performances and other much- loved country pursuits including
stunning falconry displays and horse shows are some of the many
free shows included in this wonderful day out.
There's a high quality shopping experience set in stylish marquees
and in attractive row plots reminiscent of village streets. Crafts,
fashion, horticulture, hobbies and food are well represented by
exhibitors chosen for quality and choice.
For children there is an exciting programme of activities including
a circus workshop, entertainers and traditional fairground rides.
There are mini steam train rides too, and plenty of hands- on activities
including A Country Affair's own bakery, where the youngsters learn
to make their own bread- a tasty (and messy!) experience.
There are bands and good, old fashioned country knees- ups. And
to whet the appetite for a perfect day, there are great beers and
wines at the Village Inn, plus a variety of good food, snacks and
treats for children.
A Country Affair is a memorable and affordable summer holiday day
out.
